In the last 30 days the number of businesses actually earning on x402 rose to 91 (+13 on the prior edition), on $793k of organic volume (-32%). Growth in real sellers — not raw volume — is the adoption signal that matters, and this month it moved the right way.
Strip the noise and the x402 economy is small and top-heavy: 91 wallets cleared the organic bar (≥ $100 revenue, ≥ 3 buyers, average payment ≥ $0.001) out of 37,495 that received anything at all. The top 10 wallets hold 76% of volume, and the median wallet earned $0.01 across the month — the long tail is spam, not commerce.
coinbase clears the plurality of x402 payments at 42% of settled volume. Some of the largest "sellers" on raw explorers are facilitator settlement wallets — their throughput is other people's revenue, which is why the organic filter excludes them.
